Henrietta has proven to us time and time again that no song is beyond his grasp. Perhaps the best testament to this truth was offered in Hampton on 11/20/98 with the only appearance of Will Smith's “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It.” As he came out from behind the drums to the usual “Hold Your Head Up” theme, several large cue cards were brought to the stage. The crowd, eager with anticipation, was subsequently treated with the first ever rap song performed in its entirety on the Phish stage. Fishman did alter the lyrics, though, to reference his own alias, Bob Weaver. Luckily for all, the moment was released on Hampton Comes Alive. It isn’t the only memento of the occasion, though; at the end of the song, Henrietta tore up the cue cards and tossed them to the crowd for all to enjoy.
